What we live with in our enviroment that may be the cause of disease
Just doing some research on why we have so much disease, sickness, inflammation, autoimmune disorders, cancer… here is a compilation of different articles and things I came across. Just in our own homes and things we do, to help keep us healthy, It is worth a conversation. I also listed the resources for you to read the whole article I am referencing.
Lets start out with what we eat, do you read your ingredient labels? How much do you buy that is processed food?
7 (or 10) Worst Ingredients in Food Ingredients:
1. Artificial Sweeteners:
Experiments have found that sweet taste, regardless of its caloric content, enhances your appetite, and consuming artificial sweeteners has been shown to lead to even greater weight gain than consuming sugar.Aspartame has been found to have the most pronounced effect, but the same applies for other artificial sweeteners, such as acesulfame potassium, sucralose and saccharin.
2. Synthetic Trans Fats:
These are common in foods that contain partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, such as crackers, chips, most store-bought baked goods, and any fried foods, just to name a few examples. Synthetic trans fats are known to promote inflammation, which is a hallmark of most chronic and/or serious diseases.
3. Artificial Flavors:
What’s particularly alarming when you see a word like “artificial flavor” on an ingredients label is that there’s no way to know what it actually means. It could mean that one unnatural additive is included, or it could be a blend of hundreds of additives. Strawberry artificial flavor can contain nearly 50 chemical ingredients, for example.5
Or take the artificial flavoring called diacetyl, which is often used as a butter flavoring in microwave popcorn. Research shows diacetyl has several concerning properties for brain health and may trigger Alzheimer’s disease. Genetically engineered flavor enhancers can also be listed under the artificial flavor (or natural flavor) label.
4. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG):
This flavor enhancer is most often associated with Chinese food, but it’s actually in countless processed food products ranging from frozen dinners and salad dressing to snack chips and meats. MSG is an excitotoxin, which means it overexcites your cells to the point of damage or death, causing brain dysfunction and damage to varying degrees — and potentially even triggering or worsening learning disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease and more.
5. Artificial Colors:
Every year, food manufacturers pour 15 million pounds of artificial food dyes into U.S. foods — and that amount only factors in eight different varieties.6 Nine of the food dyes currently approved for use in the US are linked to health issues ranging from cancer and hyperactivity to allergy-like reactions — and these results were from studies conducted by the chemical industry itself.7 For instance, Red # 40, which is the most widely used dye, may accelerate the appearance of immune system tumors in mice, while also triggering hyperactivity in children.
6. High-Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS): It’s often claimed that HFCS is no worse for you than sugar, but this is not the case. Because high-fructose corn syrup contains free-form monosaccharides of fructose and glucose, it cannot be considered biologically equivalent to sucrose (sugar), which has a glycosidic bond that links the fructose and glucose together, and which slows its break down in the body.
Fructose is primarily metabolized by your liver, because your liver is the only organ that has the transporter for it. Since all fructose gets shuttled to your liver, and, if you eat a typical Western-style diet, you consume high amounts of it, fructose ends up taxing and damaging your liver in the same way alcohol and other toxins do. And just like alcohol, fructose is metabolized directly into fat – it just gets stored in your fat cells, which leads to mitochondrial malfunction, obesity and obesity-related diseases.
7. Preservatives:
Preservatives lengthen the shelf-life of foods, increasing manufacturers’ profits – at your expense, since most are linked to health problems such as cancer, allergic reactions and more. Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydrozyttoluene (BHT) are preservatives that affect the neurological system of your brain, alter behavior and have the potential to cause cancer. Tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) is a chemical preservative so deadly that just five grams can kill you.
The preservative sodium benzoate — found in many soft drinks, fruit juices and salad dressings – has been found to cause children to become measurably more hyperactive and distractible. Sodium nitrite, a commonly used preservative in hot dogs, deli meats and bacon, has been linked to higher rates of colorectal, stomach and pancreatic cancers. And the list goes on and on…
8. I want to add a few more things here! GLUTEN- wheat. I think that everyone has a bit of gluten intolerance. How can yo not? It is a genetically altered food that is designed to be rezilliant to round-up, as well as an insecticide, that when bugs nibble on the plant, they get holes in their stomach, and die. This is altered to the point that our bodies don’t recognize the molicules and we have a hard time digesting it. Some people are more sensitive than others. But after having my uncle have his whole intestines taken out, and the numbers keep increasing of people who have illnesses, this is a definate thing to avoid in my book.

9. the 2nd thing I am going to add here is the other GMO foods. Corn, Sugar, (sugar beets), Soy, Aspartame, Papayas, Canola, Cotton, Dairy, Zucchini and Yellow Squash. If you are growing your own garden, make sure the seeds that you buy are heritage seeds, or non-GMO. Also, think about the ground and the contaminations that could exist, I did not realize the grass fertilzer probably is leaking into the ground to my vegetables.

10. SUGAR OF ALL KINDS: sugar is more addicting that cocain and it is in everything it seems!

The best food to eat is the food that doesn’t come with a label and organic! I have been told to avoid the inside isles in the grocery store. Also, consider that the vegetables that we are are depleated from nutrutients, vitamins, such as broccoli today, is considered that you need to eat 5x more today than you did in 1950. This is such a small list, but think about what the ingredients are in these, and what we do with them – is it really that important to compromise our health to use these items? This is what I love about the doTERRA essential oils, is that they can replace all of these things.

OUR MINDS, THOUGHTS and ATTITUDE
A friend of mine once shared that she got hit by a baseball in the mouth, and she had to have mouth surgery and everything. When she went to the physical therapist, she was asked, what is it that you are trying to say? And she started crying, it was so much emotions, and she has been wanting to say that she is unhappy in her marriage, but her religious background and upbringing Divorce was not an option. Our environment again, and how we react to things, creates a horrible mind game.
I have to say that when the economy crashed, my body feel into a spiral of health issues, from not sleeping, food allergies, to a locked shoulder. My body was shutting down on me. When I look back, I think that maybe this was a start of an autoimmune snowball effect. I had to get control of myself. It can happen slowly overtime, or very fast. I am learning how to pay more attention to my body and what it is trying to tell me! What is good emotional health?
People who have good emotional health are aware of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. They have learned healthy ways to cope with the stress and problems that are a normal part of life. They feel good about themselves and have healthy relationships.
However, many things that happen in your life can disrupt your emotional health and lead to strong feelings of sadness, stress or anxiety. These things include:
- Being laid off from your job
- Having a child leave or return home
- Dealing with the death of a loved one
- Getting divorced or married
- Suffering an illness or an injury
- Getting a job promotion
- Experiencing money problems
- Moving to a new home
- Having a baby

How can my emotions affect my health?
Your body responds to the way you think, feel and act. This is often called the “mind/body connection.” When you are stressed, anxious or upset, your body tries to tell you that something isn’t right. For example, high blood pressure or a stomach ulcer might develop after a particularly stressful event, such as the death of a loved one. The following can be physical signs that your emotional health is out of balance:
